Lying 32km from Lake Garda and 45km from Verona, Mantua is one
of Italy’s most influential artistic cities and also one of the main Italian Renaissance centres, which qualifies this small city with 50,000 inhabitants for a rightful place on the UNESCO
World Heritage List.
Its beautiful, peaceful centre makes it as interesting as many other cities with a greater flux of tourists.
The sixteenth-century Palazzo Aldegatti building is very centrally located in via Chiassi, right at
the heart of Mantua’s historical centre. Still excellently preserved and revered, each year it hosts an important cultural event: the Literary Festival.
